ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMIST

JOB SPECIFICATION Operate and maintain Laboratory equipment such as GC, GC-MS, ICP, AAS, and SPECTROPHOTMETER, and carry out routine laboratory analysis. Prepare schedules for equipment maintenance and calibration. Have participated in several Environmental Studies onshore & offshore. Be able to write Environmental and compliance monitoring Report. Appreciates laboratory quality assurance and quality control. Have knowledge of oil field water analysis. Practical Toxicity analysis, Quality assurance, Quality Control (QA/QC) and report writing. Have good knowledge of technical tender/bid preparation  Any other test/duty as may be required. Comply to safety rules and regulations   Other Requirements The ideal candidate should: Have a master’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or any related field. Have minimum of seven (7) years relevant work experience and should be able to work with minimal or no supervision. Knowledge of food analysis is an added advantage. Must be a team player He should have good communication skills in order to communicate data and results in a clear manner and should be able to transfer knowledge and best practices to members of his team. Be ready to work overtime if necessary to meet the needs of the business and clients. Have good computer literacy, with particular competence in MS office software.  Exhibit creativity, ingenuity and resourcefulness.  Be able to work in an organized and planned fashion. INSTRUMENTATION / CALIBRATION ENGINEER /TECHNICIAN

Job Responsibilities. testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems calibration of tools and automated machines designing and developing new control systems analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports managing operations working collaboratively with operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff Proficient in Uncertainty calculations liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities (e.g. equipment manufacturers) understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards providing advice and consultancy support Analyze and ensure to standardize equipment on return. Determine ESIL needs for services and equipments. Supervise current equipment service contracts. Coordinate repairs plus supervise defective equipment returns. Develop and maintain relations with suppliers to prepare control plus data acquisition systems.
