Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Analytical Geochemist with proven expertise in petroleum & petroleum product and
Formation Water analysis to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-
precision testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting quality assurance across upstream,
midstream, and downstream oil & gas operations.

Key Responsibilities
 Conduct Petroleum assay, chemical and physical analysis of crude oil, formation water, refined products,
lubricants, petrochemicals, and specialty fuels: including, SARA analysis, Dean & Stark analysis, Salt in crude,
Color, Coper corrosion, API measurement, specific gravity measurement, metals, organics, anions, etc.Crude oil Fingerprinting using GC-FID & GC-MS with data interpretation.
 Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments (GC, GC-MS, HPLC, ICP, AAS, XRF, distillation analyzers,
flash point testers, Spectrophotometer, etc.).
 Perform testing in line with ASTM, API, ISO, IP, AHPA and other international standards.
 Ensure laboratory compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
 Prepare accurate test reports and certificates of analysis for clients, regulatory bodies and other internal and
external stakeholders.
 Troubleshoot analytical methods and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
 Collaborate with QA/QC officer to ensure results meet regulatory and client specifications.
 Provide technical support during audits, inspections, and client visits.
 Train and mentor laboratory technicians in petroleum and water testing procedures.
 Ensure adherence to HSE standards during all laboratory operations.
 Analyzing each data obtained ensuring its accuracy and reliability, and interpret results to support marketing
decisions.
 Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the laboratory.
 Investigating and resolving technical issues that may arise in the laboratory.
Required Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Geology, Geochemistry or related field
(Master an advantage).
 5–8 years’ hands-on experience in an accredited laboratory.
 Strong knowledge of petroleum product/water testing methods (ASTM, APHA, IP, API, ISO, etc.).
 Proficiency in the use and maintenance of modern analytical instruments.
 Proven ability to interpret analytical data and prepare technical reports.
 Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems.
 Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Certifications
 Professional membership or certification (e.g., ICCON, CSN, ASTM, or equivalent).
 Experience working in oil & gas servicing industries.

instruments used in sampling and testing are well calibrated in line ISO 17025 standard, while responding promptly
to customer’s corrective and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
 Perform routine and corrective calibration of instruments in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, OEM
standards, and industry regulations.
 Troubleshoot faulty equipment and ensure minimal downtime of laboratory and field instruments,
coordinate repairs and supervise defective equipment returns.
 Install, configure, and maintain environmental monitoring instruments (air quality, water quality, gas
detection, emission monitoring, flow meters, etc.).
 Testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems, designing and developing new control systems
 Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for analytical and monitoring equipment.
 Analyze data, prepare, review, and update calibration procedures, records, reports and documentation in

Required Qualifications

 Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in instrumentation and calibration, preferably in oil & gas laboratory, or
industrial manufacturing sectors.

Required qualification
