VACANCY! CORE ANALYST
POSITION: Core Analyst EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: A minimum of a Master’s degree preferably in Geology/Geological Sciences, Petroleum Engineering. Advanced analytical skills and working knowledge in MS Office, with emphasis on Excel. Minimum of 7-10 years experience in a recognized Core Laboratory as a Core Analyst (Core Handling, Core Processing, Sample Preparation, Routine Core Analysis & SCAL). Maintains a high degree of ethical conduct. A good team player. Develop and deliver technical presentations. RESPONSIBILITIES As a Core Analyst, you will be responsible for the following tasks: Core Processing. This will involve storage, preservation, CT scanning, spectral/gamma ray, core slabbing, core plugging, etc. The work sometimes is physically strenuous as it involves lifting cores. Sample Preparation. Wrapping the sample with Nickel/Tin sleeves with different mesh and screen sizes, Soxhlet cleaning with Toluene and Methanol, sample drying, CT-scanning, brine, and oil preparation, etc. Routine Core Analysis. You will be involved in standard core analysis, such as fluid saturation using Dean Stark and Retort oven methodology, determination of grain/ bulk density, lithology description, UV/WL determination, sieve analysis, porosity and permeability, etc. Special Core Analysis. Have basic knowledge of SCAL. Determination of relative permeability, wettability, capillary pressure, electrical properties, etc. Basic Skills in operating NMR equipment will be an added advantage.
