Job Title: GAUGE ENGINEER
Overall Purpose and objective:
To plan and execute Slickline and BHP operations as required on client installations both onshore & offshore as required and in line with Company and Client Company policies, procedures and systems, Statutory Regulations and good industry practice. To run Slickline/BHP operations, including but not limited to the supervision and training of new gauge and prospective gauge engineers
Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Acquisition and download of well test data
Provide technical report on all acquired well test data
To review well operations programmes & well files as required & to be involved with rest of the team in the planning of the operation & preparation of equipment necessary to execute a successful well intervention operation.
Carrying out a bench test on the memory gauges prior to mobilization
Ensure quality control of well test data for all operations
Ensure memory gauges are calibrated and fit for use
Provide supervision and on the job training to new gauge engineers
Keep accurate records legible accounts of all assignment to the gauge engineer by client.
To actively promote and comply with the Company and client HSE, operational and QA procedures and work instructions to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety meetings.
To complete company operational reports in accordance with quality procedures, and distribute the same in a manner consistent with the client’s demands.
Attend regular safety briefings as arranged by the Company.
Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by the slickline Manager within the time frame specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.
Required Skills:
Good knowledge & understanding of well services sector of the oil industry. Previous experience of Gauge Engineer in an operating role.
Good all round knowledge of the entire major well service equipment manufacturers’ equipment.
Strong communication skills – written, verbal and listening.
Leadership skills – Interpersonal Understanding.
Hands-on experience in one or more well service core disciplines.
Ability to develop and energize people.
Must have a digital marketing skill
Required Experience:
6+ years experience in Slickline
Experience working with PPS 25 and PPS 28 Electronic Memory Gauges will be an asset
Possession of valid IWCF will be an advantage
Minimum of 1st Degree in any Engineering or related field
